Covid Catch Up Premium
Please note that from September 2021, this catch-up funding forms part of the Pupil Premium Strategy funding and is detailed within that document on a separate tab entitled 'Pupil Premium' within this section.
What catch-up funding is for
The government have provided financial support to schools so they can help children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.
Mainstream school will get £80 for each pupil in from Reception to Year 11 inclusive.
Grange Primary School will receive approximately £16,000 of this funding in this academic year 2020-2021.
Our school is using this money to fund the following catch-up programmes and support:
- an oral language intervention programme for Reception pupils- NELI (Nuffield Early Language Intervention)
- access to EAL support through the National Tutoring Programme to provide additional, targeted support for those children who speak English as an Additional Language
- better access to remote/home learning through provision of devices and free wifi at home
- targeted intervention provided by in-school qualified teachers to help identified pupils catch up
