School Council
This year, our Rights Respecting Ambassadors - Emilia and Darcy - are working alongside Mrs Rogerson to run the School Council – ensuring that our children have a voice in decisions made in school.
Meet our council members and find out why they are proud to be on the school council:

Emilia and Darcy have been busy gathering views from our pupils. Find out what they asked for and what we did in our half-termly newsletter. See these attached below.

Play Time Buddies
Our student council gave children across school the opportunity to apply to become a play time buddy. The children then looked at the applications and selected 15 play time buddies across KS1 and KS2. These are our nominated play time buddies:
Willow (Y1), Theo (Y1), Hollie (Y2), Talia (Y2), Brogan (Y2), Heidi (Y3), Reggie (Y3), Harper (Y3), Alayna (Y4), Georgie (Y4), Devira (Y5), Neola (Y5), TT (Y6), Charlie N (Y6) and Benny (Y6)
County Hall
Last half term, our school council visited County Hall in Preston. We were hosted by our local councillor and their education team. We also had Mr Ellard, one of our school Governors, with us. All of our school council took part from Reception to Year 6. We learnt all about democracy and the role of the council in our local area. We were lucky enough to hold a school council meeting in the actual chamber! We discussed what our pupils were saying and made a plan of action!

Children's Mental Health Week 2026
Emilia, Darcy and Mrs Rogerson presented an assembly today to the whole school sharing more information about Children's Mental Health Week 2026. The theme this year is 'This is my place' and it is focused on belonging.

Gathering suggestions
Darcy and Emilia gathered the views of children in school. They asked what improvements children would like to see during break times, lunch times, in our local community and asked for any other ideas.
