Welcome to Rowan Class:
2022 - 2023
Year 3
Mrs England and Mrs Ewart
Here you will find the Long-Term Plan for Year 3 for 2022-23.
This gives a broad overview of the themes and topics covered in year and relate back to the National Curriculum.

Maths.
In Maths, we will be continuing with our scheme Maths No Problem and will be concentrating on Place Value, Addition and Subtraction in the first half of the Autumn term.
In English we will use Talk for Writing to learn new texts which will enhance our writing. We will be writing about Parrots for Sale in our non-fiction unit and Eggs in our Fiction unit. We will also be continuing our learning in Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation, building on our Year 2 skills.

PE
Our PE days are Tuesdays & Thursdays.
Please send your child to school in their school PE kit: red round-neck t-shirt and plain black shorts or joggers. Children should also wear their school sweatshirt.
Black pumps are also useful or unbranded black trainers.
Please do not send your child in clothes which are not school uniform.
Please also ensure that children with pierced ears can either remove earrings themselves or cover with plasters before the start of the school day.
Home Reading
We will continue to monitor home reading and will change books on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please continue to complete the reading records in your child's reading diaries. This does help with monitoring who is reading at home whilst allowing your child to collect stickers towards a certificate and prizes..
Spellings
Finally spellings will be added to the Rowan Showbie file on a Friday, ready for the spelling test on the following Friday. Please encourage your child to practise these at home.
Thank you so much for your continued support,
Mrs England and Mrs Ewart.
