Covid Reporting in the Christmas Holidays
Thu 17 Dec 2020COVID TEST&TRACE DURING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS
Please remember, you need to tell us if your child has Covid-19.
If your child shows symptoms of Covid-19 within 48 hours of the end of the school term, or tests positive for Covid-19 having shown symptoms within 48 hours of the end of school term, you should report this.
Contact Lancashire County Council immediately by:
- emailing COVID19educationquestions@lancashire.gov.uk
- or calling 01772 531555.
- Local Authority Staff will be on hand to notify any other pupils in your child's bubble and their families so they can self-isolate for ten days.
It's vital you tell the county council about any positive tests so we can help prevent the spread of coronavirus in our community.

Stars and Players' Players - week ending 11 Dec 2020:
Fri 11 Dec 2020We have had a great week in school – attendance has been fantastic so thank you to all parents and children. Next week is our last week – full of Christmas parties, Christmas Dinners and preparing our play performances.
Remember the dates are on our website and in a previous Facebook post – attached again here for you.
We begin next week with Year 2 and Year 4 Christmas parties on Monday – so it’s own clothes for those year groups.
Some superb learning and behaviour in school this week – it is really difficult for teachers and children to choose just one Star and Players’ Player! 😊

Thank you for all the lovely photos sent in of children in our ‘Snuggle Up With A Good Book’ event this week – we have loved seeing you all!
This week, we are distributing Fareshare food bags to anyone who needs – so if you know someone, collect a bag and take it to them.
Also, we are now collecting Christmas Cards – UNTIL 11 DECEMBER – then we will quarantine them and distribute them on the last day of term.
Remember next Friday is Christmas Jumper Day – please don’t go to a lot of expense though parents– this is an expensive time of year anyway! 😊

School attendance has been really good throughout this last term and this week is particularly good. Well done especially to Rowan class who achieved 100% attendance!
Next week, we are beginning to prepare for Christmas in earnest. The Christmas Diary Dates Newsletter is on the website, Showbie and our Facebook page – look out for the new addition regarding Christmas Jumper Day. PLEASE do not go to extra expense in an already challenging time. Christmas Lunch is free of charge for ALL children – just let your class teacher know before 4th December.

The children have had a lovely day today – coming to school in their own clothes to raise awareness for Children In Need. In fact, in Year 3, they also joined in a special online exercise class with Joe Wickes and saw the Children in Need totaliser increasing!

Celebration Assembly by Zoom!
Fri 06 Nov 2020We have had a very special Celebration Assembly today where all the classes joined us by Zoom to celebrate our new Head Pupils and Captains.
Although the role will be different because of the need to stick to bubbles, we still think it is important to give our Year 6 the opportunity to seek responsibilities and to be able to contribute to the running of school.
So, well done to all of the following pupils and we look forward to listening to your views and ideas about how we continue to reflect and improve on making our school an even better place to learn and play!
